2022 - 2023 BR Cabinet

The role of the cabinet within Beyond Resolved is to oversee projects, local chapters, and vote on major decisions concerning the organization. Each cabinet member oversees a different area of Beyond Resolved.

President: Sharanya 'Anya' Gupta

they/them/theirs

     Sharanya (Anya) Gupta is a senior at Westwood High School in Austin, TX. Anya worked with the Texas Chapter of Beyond Resolved from the years 2019-2020, and this is their second year working as a member of the Beyond Resolved Cabinet. They have been competing in Public Forum for 2 years now, and previously competed in Extemporaneous Speech and Congress. Anya is also a driven activist. advocating for LGBTQ+ POC youth both in their community and in the debate space.

 

     Outside of debate, Anya runs a graphic design company, owns over 36 houseplants, and can always be caught with a cup of coffee in hand. They are super excited to serve as Beyond Resolved's President this year, and are dedicated to making the Speech and Debate community more inclusive and safe for all individuals!

Vice President: Ruijia 'Grace' Wang

she/her/hers

Ruijia Wang is a sophomore at University High School, California. She has been competing on Congressional Debate since 8th grade. She is extremely passionate about justice and equality. She wants to emphasize those values more within speech and debate. She is excited to work for Beyond Resolved and make speech and debate a safe and inclusive space for all.
